Priya & her friends, students of Parampara, turned out for their annual performance on Sunday, December 12, 2010. Along with four others, Priya was part of the vibrant Thillana act. Here are some photos from that act and there is one of the whole group of students who performed under the tutelage of gurus Elangovan and Marie Elangovan.
It was lovely watching them perform with confidence and pride, aware that they were being scrutinised not only by their gurus but also by their own parents and the parents of their friends. It was a good evening with plenty of camaraderie and team work on view. With a bunch like this — and am sure there are many more around — I am sure that traditional Indian dance and music will thrive in the years to come.
