A look into Europe’s “lesser leagues”

This year it isn’t just about the English Premier League and the Spanish La Liga. Every country has begun to show more interest in football and is starting to promote it even further. Every league is being more competitive than before. Yes, this year, everything is about to change.

Here is a look at Italian Seria A and German Bundesliga

Serie A

It has been accused of losing quality over the years. The new generation Serie A saw teams like AC Milan and Inter Milan, who have had a number of huge stars, come up with lacklustre performances. The league had begun to be dominated by Juventus and AS Roma. But this year, a lot has happened in the first six rounds.

Napoli, tied with Juventus at the top of the table, leads on goal difference. Inter Milan and Lazio fill the top four. AS Roma and AC Milan complete the top six.

Napoli has come up with some dominating performances, defeating Lazio 4-1 and Benevento 6-0. Its inspirational winger Dries Mertens has been compared to the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar. AC Milan, which was powered by a new Board this season, had a good run before being humbled by Lazio.
Paulo Dybala leads the top scorers charts with 10 goals for Juventus.

It  has been dominated by FC Bayern for a long time. But this year, Borrusia Dortmund seems to have other ideas. It leads the table after the first six rounds, one point ahead of Bayern. The Golden Boot race is led by Aubameyang (Dortmund). Robert Lewandowski is one goal behind Aubameyang. Dortmund showed an absolutely commanding performance against Gladbach as it won 6-1, with Aubameyang scoring a hat-trick.

FC Bayern seem to be tearing apart internally, with Lewandowski and Robben expressing discontent with the club publicly. Lewandowski has asked his agent to force a move to Real and wants to play at his “favorite club” next summer.
